This high capacity fluoride plus water filter has three canisters for a total of 8 stages of filtration. The first filter has coconut shell carbon block filter, the second filter is a fluoride filter that has special fluoride reducing media in it called CQ-900 that will reduce 95% or more of fluoride from municipal water. The Crystal Quest 8 stage undersink fluoride filter comes with everything you need to hook it up including a bracket so you can mount it neatly under your sink. It also comes with its own decorative faucet so you have a dedicated faucet for filtered water.

Maintenance:

It is very easy to replace the filters when they are used up. All you do is turn your water of at the filter then turn your faucet on to relief any pressure and water from the lines. Then just unscrew the canister that the filter is in and take the old one out and replace with the new replacement filter.

Before you screw the canister back on you will want to inspect the o rings on it and you might want to put a little lubrication on them like cooking oil as sometimes they get dried out and wont seat very well and leak. Once that is done screw the canisters back on and turn your water back on and inspect for leaks. Then you will want to turn your faucet on and let water run through the filters for 10 to 15 minutes to flush them out and activate them.

The 6 Stage filter filters for 10,000 gal and the carbon block filter will filter for 12 to 18 months and the fluoride cartridge will filter for 1,000 to 1,500 gallons on average

The 1st stage water flows through a coconut shell solid carbon cartridge to remove or reduce volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC’s) insecticides, pesticides, and industrial solvents.

The 2nd stage water flows through a fluoride removal cartridge containing fine-mesh pre-resin media to reduce fluorides below 0.5 ppm. 3rd and 8th stage water flows through a pre and post one micron filter pads to remove suspended particles like silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt and any other un-dissolved matter.

In stage 7 water flows through granulated coconut shell activated carbon to remove chlorine, (THM’s benzene) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) PCB’s, MTBE’s and hundreds of other chemical contaminants the might be in your drinking water causing bad taste and odors.
