The Crystal Quest 8 stage under sink fluoride removal water filter has 8 stages of filtration to remove fluoride, lead, arsenic and hundreds of contaminants.

It has three cartridges that water flows through there is a coconut shell solid carbon cartridge to remove organic carbon compounds and industrial solvents.

Then water flows through a fluoride removal cartridge to reduce fluoride below 0.5 ppm.

Then there is a 6 stage cartridge that contains a pre and post 1 micron filter pad to catch any un-dissolved matter. There is a KDF 55 and KDF 85 media to remove heavy metals and chlorine, and then there is an ion exchange resin to remove more heavy metals and water hardness.

Then there is a granulated coconut shell carbon media the water flows through to further remove or reduce chlorine and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that might be causing bad taste and odors.

The 6 Stage filter filters for 10,000 gal and the carbon block filter will filter for 12 to 18 months and the fluoride cartridge will filter for 1,500 gallons on average

The 1st stage water flows through a coconut shell solid carbon cartridge to remove or reduce volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC’s) insecticides, pesticides, and industrial solvents.

The 2nd stage water flows through a fluoride removal cartridge containing fine-mesh pre-resin media to reduce fluorides below 0.5 ppm. 3rd and 8th stage water flows through a pre and post one micron filter pads to remove suspended particles like silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt and any other un-dissolved matter.

4th and 5th stage water flow through a KDF 55 and KDF 85 media to remove or reduce chlorine and heavy metals like lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, aluminum and other dissolved metals. Read more about KDF 55 and KDF 85

In stage 7 water flows through granulated coconut shell activated carbon to remove chlorine, (THM’s benzene) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) PCB’s, MTBE’s and hundreds of other chemical contaminants the might be in your drinking water causing bad taste and odors. Capacity is up to 11,000 ppm with effluent levels below 0.2 ppm from 10 ppm feed. Note: high pH and high bicarbonate levels reduce capacity - above 100 ppm bicarbonate, reduction by 50%; above 200 ppm, reduction by 75%.
