The first stage, and the sixth stage water flows through a one-micron filter pad that removes sand, rust, dirt, silt, sediment, and any other un-dissolved particles in your water.

In stage 2, water flows through coconut shell carbon to remove organic contaminants like chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, (VOC's,) PCB's, MTBE's, insecticides and hundreds more of chemical contaminants from your water. Read more on coconut shell carbon

Then stage 3, water flows through an ion exchange resin to remove or reduce heavy metals like lead, copper, aluminum and water hardness. Read more about ion exchange resin

Then in stages 4 and 5,, water flows through a eagle redox 6500 & 9500 media to oxidize iron and hydrogen sulfide into an insoluble matter, result is it then attaches to the media.
